Personal and Professional Background
Welcome to the Covington ISD Counselor page! I am so excited to be a part of your academic journey. This is my 6th year in the Covington Owl family. I began my career in Covington as the 4th-6th grade science teacher. In 2020, I moved to the high school to teach 7th-12th Special Education. I have worked with all grade levels and enjoy many things about each of them. My husband, Cody, and I have three children, ages 23, 13, and 10. We love to travel and love the beach! We are active members at First Baptist of Covington and teach Wednesday night children's classes.
My hope for you is that with my academic guidance, you will become knowledgeable about your personal and academic strengths, and become a lifelong learner. Each of us have the ability to determine our own destiny. As your counselor, I offer multiple opportunities to help create a plan that works for YOU! Throughout your junior high and high school journey, you will learn to identify your own strengths and weakness, and how to use them to become the best version of you. We will talk about your interests, where you see yourself in the future, as well as the things that are needed to make that happen. And if plans change, that's okay too!
