Personal and Professional Background

Hi! My name is Shelby Thompson. This is my seventh year as an educator for Covington ISD, but my 21st year in education. I have been a teacher for Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, English as a Second Language, and an Elementary School Counselor. I thoroughly enjoy working with students from Pre-K through 12^th grade as the Student Services Coordinator, and look forward to helping students achieve their goals socially, emotionally, and academically to prepare them for their future college and career pathways. 

I have two kids; Lila, who is in Sixth Grade, and Wyatt, who is in Kindergarten. We enjoy spending time outside together, as well as participating in CYA Flag Football, CYA Volleyball, and Junior High Cheer. Our activities keep us busy, but we all enjoy being part of the Covington community.
