Shelby Thompson

Personal and Professional Background

Hi! My name is Shelby Thompson. This is my sixth year as an educator for Covington ISD, but my 20th year in education. I have been a teacher for Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, English as a Second Language, and an Elementary School Counselor. I’m excited to join the Secondary side of Covington ISD as the Student Services Coordinator, and look forward to helping students in making decisions towards their future college and career pathways. 

 

I have two kids; Lila, who is in Fifth Grade, and Wyatt, who is in Pre-K. We enjoy spending time outside together, as well as participating in CYA Flag Football and Mini Cheer. Our activities keep us busy, but we all enjoy being part of the Covington community.

  • Southwestern Adventist University – B.S. in Elementary Education, 2005
  • Lamar University – M.Ed. in School Counseling, 2012
